Question for GM

GM i have a question (i don't need player's answer, only to GM)

If we make player name similar to other existing player name, does it break any rule?

I have seen EvilSlasher001 (crus ), EvilSlasher001 ( Champ), EvilSlasher001 (SS ). 3 chars having same name!

I didnt have the thought of reporting though. Now that u ask it came to my mind. So said

They all same player.

What i meant is, is impersonating people allowed in this server? For instance someone made a character with similar name as mine, will he/she forced to change name by GM? Because there are several cases

RoranoaZoro (demilegend) -> RonaroaZoro (imposter)
Shireia (old player) -> Shinkansen (imposter, because this was Shireia's IGN before changing name to Shireia with GM service card)

Not 1 lol. Last time i saw 'you' scamming. It was 'RoranoaZorro' or sth like that.

Well, all i can say is dont get fooled/ scammed lol
And GM, can u do something about this?

I dont think its illegal or against any rules stated, since the owner(of the 'fakes' can simply say its their right to name the char any way they want as long as it isnt identical. after all, what can the gm do? i hate it when this happens but reality is gms cant do anything.

1.names were not identical
2.player can then say, who r u to question my decision? who r u to tell me what i can or cannot name my char?

i dun think gm will ever add a rule banning 'similar' names because of the very fact the word 'similar' has MANY meanings. so wat exactly would similar mean then? then whoever got banned will come back and complain, hey, my name wasnt similar! look, three letters are different! the rules never stated what the heck different meant! and again, many more will start asking, then what sort of world do we live in when now even online we cant create names we want?

i DONT support similar names cos back in TOP there were tons of scam cases because of those ass holes, but my pt is it is also quite naive to ask for a ban on a such a wide, difficult to define subject.

what one person defines as identical can be different to another.

my suggestion is, shout in world, post here in forum and make sure everyone knows the way ur name is SPELT to alert ppl and the second any of those assholes start pming or spamming the world and u or ur guild gets alerted, screenshot them with the help of ur guildies and ban them. thats basically what i did back in TOP as a cop for my server, and it went pretty well. got my guild to watch out, posted in forums and world who i was, how to spell my name and even let myself get 'scammed' thrice in a sort of covert op so i could use the evidence and contact LiveSupport who immediately served an ip-ban on them. Arrest and ban when u can, that's my advice. done it close to twenty times already b4 i quit XD

There is no rule to punish someone for using a name that someone else might have previously used.

How ever when they are using these names to scam other players, then it is a whole different case.
