Equipment Upgrade Guide

Introduction:

Hi again guys.
This time i will make a short guide (not lying this time, will be short i promise) about Equipment Upgrade.
I noticed that many players didnt know about this so im helping them now with this one.

- What is Equipment Upgrade?
Its to upgrade your equipments Effectiveness.

- What for?
Well, to get more stats of course.

This is what we are aiming to. This is a shoot of my actual sword.
I know not every equipment has that thingy im highlighting, ill tell you in a while why.




What Do We Need?!:

1.- Equipment: obviously, without this, this guide has no sense XD. It can be swords, armor, gloves, boots, hat, staff, bow, guns, great swords. Rings, Corals and Necklaces cant be upgraded not even appareled.

I will use this one as example for the whole guide.
Yeah, i love Chaos Pawstone, so what? X)
Notice it has not the "Effectiveness" word in it, yet...




2.- Apparel: we need it so the word "Effectiveness" will be added to our equipment, and in this particular case to be able to wear this equipment.
So, where do we get them? @Argent [2200,2770]. Its the same for any class and any character in BSO.

So, hmmm, i will, hmmm, i will buy this one.




Now we will head to our favourite brothers @Argent[2200,2700], Blacksmith Goldie and Forgesmith. They seem to like to tag along, hehe.
We can also visit his brother the Full Metal (XD) Blacksmith Smithy and his Disciple @Shaitan[900,3500]. I personally like here more cuz less lag.

Now, from Forgesmith or Blacksmith Disciple we get:

3.- Fusion Scroll: its neccessary for fusing your Equipment to your Apparel.




Note: if your equipment is already forged, or its already upgraded you will need to add this:

3.1.- Equipment Catalyst: so you wont lose the upgrade or the gems in the equipment you will fuse to your new apparel.




Now we have it all, now to fuse.
We talk to Goldie or Smithy and click Apparel Fusion.




Its very important to keep this order, i mean for the Apparel and the Equipment, cuz, lets say you are fusing an Equipment which is already Fused, if you swap both then you will get a brand new apparel as a result instead your equipment, it will be gone if you misplace the items, so be careful.

Also theres an amount of money you will need to pay and it is the Equipment Lv Requeriment to use it x 1000.

So, in this case, since the requeriment to use Chaos Pawstone is Lv55 you will need to pay 55 x 1000 = 55k. Pretty neat, isnt it?

Note: i repeat, if your equipment has gems or it is upgraded you need the catalyst, if not you dont need it, i placed in the image just to show you where it should go in case you need it.

We click the "Confirm" button and we are done with this part.
This is the result.



Now that we have the "Effectiveness" word in our equipment its time to move out to the real meaning of this guide.


Apparel Upgrade:

Now we talk to Forgesmith or Blacksmith Disciple, we need 2 items again from them.

- Strengthening Scroll & Strengthening Crystal: this are for the upgrade.






What do we do now?

Talk to Goldie or Smithy and select Apparel Upgrade.



Ok. Heres the catch, upgrading has a certain chance of failure so, be ready to pay more than the amount needed.
You can upgrade up to 5 times, that means that each time you upgrade you get +2% Effectiveness, so 5 times means you will get up to 110% which is our goal.

Here is the list of prices:

1st Upgrade: 1.210.000g
2nd Upgrade: 1.440.000g
3rd Upgrade: 1.690.000g
4th Upgrade: 1.960.000g
5th Upgrade: 2.250.000g

For this example, (which im making while writing this) i failed just 2 times.
So, failing dont happen too much.

And this is the result.




Calculations:

Ok, time to make some maths. Yeah guys, you must do your homeworks! >=(
Hehe, im kidding, but seriously do you homeworks!

Why we had this hard work for?

Well, 110% Effectiveness means that you will have 110% of the Equipment status added to your char. And when i say "status" i mean all of them.

Str
Agi
Con
Acc
Spr
Attack Rate Bonus (the %)
Movement Speed (how i love this)
SP Recovery Rate
Hp Recovery Rate
In simply words, everything.

So, lets take my sword as an example.




Here it is again.
My sword has.

Lv4 Chipped Gem of Rage = +16 Str
Lv2 Eye of Black Dragon = +100 Attack
Lv5 Gem of Rage = +25 Str
Besides that it has
+7 Str
HP Bonus +150
Note: i mention just this stats cuz those are the ones who will be boosted in this particular case.

Lets add.

Str: 7 + 16 + 25 = 48
10% of 48 is 4.8, and always floor round it. So this mean we will get +4 Str Bonus cuz the Effectiveness. And a total of +52 Str from the whole sword. And +15 HP bonus, which 165 HP total from the sword.

Attack: 197 + 100/ 229 + 100 = 297/329 Total Attack
10% of it is +29/32. Which means, 326/361 Total Attack of the whole sword.

In our Chaos Pawstone case we can get bonus for the Movement Speed, which normally gives +61, now we will get +6 points more, getting a total of +67 Movement Speed Bonus.

This is why i love upgrading. ;D
